Bluemater has developed the Algamater wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), which combines multiple of Bluemater’s products and technologies into a complete solution for treating wastewater. The plant is able to treat up to 150m3 of wastewater per day. Its modular form makes it possible to add or leave out several components in order to meet the specific needs of the customer. Components can be sold separately as a (partial) replacement for competing WWTP. The plant consists out of several products that are developed by BLUEMATER like; the Natantia biocubes, the Syconwater biological tower, the Vulcan floater and the Vorticella bioreactors.
The Algamater WWTP is the most effective way to treat leachates known today (>98% removal of COD, nitrogen and other substances). Competing products are less effective (membrane bioreactors) or not effective at all (reverse osmosis only makes the effluent more concentrated). Furthermore, they are difficult to operate and use chemicals which can be dangerous when they are released.
